"First time visit! While they were training their new orders system, there was little time figuring out the system by competent staff who figured it out with a smile! Definitely returning just to figure out what to order with the pages of options. Thanks for the reminder of the good old days when my parents ran their dinner and I helped! Crayons and coloring pages for little ones would be great and a kid's menu specifically for them may make the family experience even better!"

"The friendly demeanor of the staff cannot possibly be overstated. I've been here a handful of times now, and the staff is always all smiles. Specifically the manager, Markie, always greets patrons warmly, and seems to care genuinely about doing her best to make sure customers have a good experience. Would recommend based on customer service alone!! There are plenty of breakfast places in the area, but the staff at Blondie's is second to none"

"If you're looking for a "no bullshit" comfort food place.. this place nails it. Come as you are, they don't judge. Get what you wish on their menu. They are accommodating as much as they can be. Very friendly. Old school diner vibes. I got an omelet with toast in the afternoon and it was wonderful. Was craving so many other things but couldn't decide. The people out back know what they're doing. From one veteran cook to another, thank you guys! I'll be coming back again soon."

Breaking the Fast in History

Breakfast, which literally means 'breaking the fast,' has evolved immensely over centuries. In the early days of America, particularly during colonial times, this meal was often a simple affair. Farmers would start their day with hearty porridge or cider, reflecting their need for sustenance before a long day’s work. As the country grew and changed, so did breakfast. By the 19th century, wealthier Americans sought more lavish meals, mirroring the full English breakfasts that were popular across the Atlantic. This shift marked the beginning of breakfast becoming a significant ritual in American culture, especially in states like Connecticut, where local traditions began to take shape.
