"I went to their booth at the Hartford Food Festival. I got the Tinga and Rez Delbrada tacos and the Rojo tamale. Small tacos but only $2 each, tamale was good for a tamale,, not a huge fan.. They were put together nicely and great homemade red hot sauce and green Verde hot sauce."

Beer for Breakfast: A Historical Curiosity

While it may sound unusual today, having beer for breakfast was not uncommon in colonial America, including Connecticut. In the 1600s and 1700s, the beverage was often consumed in the morning as a source of nutrition and hydration. People believed that beer could be a wholesome start to the day, especially in a time when water quality was often questionable. This practice reveals a fascinating aspect of early American life, where traditional breakfast choices were defined by practicality rather than modern health standards. The idea of beer at breakfast has faded, but it serves as a quirky reminder of how cultural norms have shifted over the centuries.
